Michel van der Bij came out of the goal and Ciaran McAy tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Chris Goudie's late challenge caught a ISPARTASPOR U21's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Chris Goudie helped the player get up and apologised. Chris Goudie hit a great freekick 15 minutes into the match. Tom Saunders showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ludomir Lanczak in the 16th minute of the match. In the 18th minute Ludomir Lanczak shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tom Saunders saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. John McLae could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 19th minute of the match, but Michel van der Bij made a huge save. Tom Saunders showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ludomir Lanczak in the 20th minute of the match. After 22 minutes Edinburgh City's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Alfredo Gumaro who took care of the corner kick. Tom Saunders didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Ludomir Lanczak went, in the 33rd minute, to the upper right corner, 0-4 was the resulting score. Ludomir Lanczak recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 38th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Ludomir Lanczak's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Tom Saunders read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 40th minute of play. 47 minutes into the game, Conor Alcock was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Edinburgh City's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave ISPARTASPOR U21 the free kick. Disappointed in the 0-4 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.
