An unexpectedly hard shot by Jorge Vicente Squella in the 18th minute of play forced Boca Juniors's goalkeeper Primitivo Fernanco to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 19 minutes into the game, Johny De Raeijmaecker was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Henry Tucknott was out of position in the 20 minute of play, and Orlando Lluques capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Orlando Lluques really showed his touch with that goal: 1-0. Boca Juniors's Primitivo Fernanco played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jorge Vicente Squella in the 23rd minute of play. Henry Tucknott made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bartolo Nuno in the 25th minute of play. In the 27th match minute, General Velásquez was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Johny De Raeijmaecker to maneuver through the defense. After 31 played minutes General Velásquez got a freekick which was hit by Jorge Vicente Squella. Ladislao Bertran received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 33rd minute. Henry Tucknott tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Bartolo Nuno stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After a rather tough play, General Velásquez's Martin Švácha got a free kick in the 54th minute. In the 55th match minute, Boca Juniors was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Bartolo Nuno to maneuver through the defense. The crowd rose to their feet as Martin Švácha kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Primitivo Fernanco. That made the score 1-1 in the 60 minute of play. Boca Juniors's Samuel Emesto was substituted for Alfredo Paraíba. Boca Juniors made a substitution. Maximo Bordat replaced Bartolo Nuno. The referee felt a red card was in order, 70 minutes into the game, when Lázaro Kismi put in a rough tackle. In a very dangerous position, a player in Boca Juniors fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 69th minute. Penalty! In the 71st minute, Renato Goycolea made a precise shot to the right of Primitivo Fernanco. Boca Juniors's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-2. Henry Tucknott showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Maximo Bordat, who was totally free with the ball in the 80th minute. The supporters of Boca Juniors booed when General Velásquez was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 91 match minutes in a wonderful position. Renato Goycolea didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 94thth minute of the game Maximo Bordat who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but General Velásquez's Henry Tucknott was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 96 minutes into the match, Boca Juniors's Maximo Bordat sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Henry Tucknott narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The Boca Juniors supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching General Velásquez's performance. The match ended with a win for General Velásquez.
