Edinburgh City's defense didn't have a chance, in the 11th minute, when Bartolo Nuno scored to the left of an out of position Tom Saunders, making the score, 2-0. Primitivo Fernanco showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from John McLae, who was totally free with the ball in the 14th minute. The excitement rose when Boca Juniors's Orlando Lluques after 30 played minutes turned away three defenders near the goal, and after that shot a ball that was too difficult for Edinburgh City's goalkeeper to hold. Score! 3-0. In the 32nd minute, Jonathan Carlyle hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Bartolo Nuno came up free with the goalie in the 33rd minute, the Boca Juniors fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Bartolo Nuno couldn't finish the play. 37 minutes into the game, Boca Juniors's Ladislao Bertran nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Tom Saunders made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 4-0. With a little luck, Edinburgh City's Tom Saunders got control of the ball when Ladislao Bertran tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 43rd minute, Bartolo Nuno got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Edinburgh City's defense didn't have a chance, in the 46th minute, when Bartolo Nuno scored to the left of an out of position Tom Saunders, making the score, 5-0.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for John McLae to strike the kick off in the second half. Edinburgh City's Tom Saunders played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ladislao Bertran in the 52nd minute of play. Tom Saunders came out of the goal in the 53rd minute to try and stop a shot by Boca Juniors's Pepito Santalla. But to his dismay, Pepito Santalla quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 6-0. After 61 minutes of play, Boca Juniors's Bartolo Nuno made it 7-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Tom Saunders was left in no man's land by his defense there! Boca Juniors made a substitution. Maximo Bordat replaced Bartolo Nuno. Boca Juniors's Maximo Bordat got a good chance for a goal in the 67th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a defensive mix-up in Edinburgh City's zone, Pepito Santalla stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Tom Saunders came out of the goal and Pepito Santalla tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After a rather tough play, Edinburgh City's Conor Alcock got a free kick in the 71st minute. Tom Saunders didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Maximo Bordat went, in the 72nd minute, to the upper right corner, 8-0 was the resulting score. If Maximo Bordat had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 79th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 80th minute, Maximo Bordat made a precise shot to the right of Tom Saunders. Edinburgh City's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 9-0. When Boca Juniors's Maximo Bordat in the 89th minute got a chance for a shot 89th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Edinburgh City's goalie prevented a goal. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Boca Juniors had won after a very even match.
