Rubinho de Amaral took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Enrique Abeijon, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 11 minutes into the match, Enrique Abeijon had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Rubinho de Amaral. Real Cruzeiro FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Enrique Abeijon was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-3. In the 15th minute Ramiro Messias shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rubinho de Amaral saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 16 minutes into the match, Real Cruzeiro FC's goal looked a bit too open when Estevon Abancens came free, but Rubinho de Amaral reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Júlio Arruda hit a great freekick 21 minutes into the match. After a defensive mix-up in Real Cruzeiro FC's zone, Cléberson Couto stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Rubinho de Amaral came out of the goal and Cléberson Couto tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After a rather tough play, Real Cruzeiro FC's Gonçalo Sarmento got a free kick in the 25th minute. In the 28th minute Estevon Abancens shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rubinho de Amaral saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 29 minutes into the match, Real Cruzeiro FC's goal looked a bit too open when Enrique Abeijon came free, but Rubinho de Amaral reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Nelson de Lima's late challenge caught a Escuadrón Mercenario's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Nelson de Lima helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Real Cruzeiro FC getting a freekick after 31 minutes play. Nelson de Lima hit a great ball. In the 38th minute, Enrique Abeijon left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Escuadrón Mercenario fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-5. 41 minutes into the match, Real Cruzeiro FC's goal looked a bit too open when Ramiro Messias came free, but Rubinho de Amaral reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After the first half Escuadrón Mercenario were leading 0-5. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Natã Madureira to make the kick off. Rubinho de Amaral made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Estevon Abancens in the 53rd minute of play. Rubinho de Amaral took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Enrique Abeijon, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 56th match minute, Escuadrón Mercenario was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Sasoin Abascal to maneuver through the defense. After some careless play in the Real Cruzeiro FC defense, Estevon Abancens kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Rubinho de Amaral. The Real Cruzeiro FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Rubinho de Amaral should have stopped the shot. Rubinho de Amaral showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ramiro Messias, who was totally free with the ball in the 61st minute. Real Cruzeiro FC's Rubinho de Amaral played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Estevon Abancens in the 63rd minute of play. Rubinho de Amaral was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Enrique Abeijon showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 0-7 in the 64 minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Enrique Abeijon got free with Rubinho de Amaral in the 67th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After a rather tough play, Escuadrón Mercenario's Zé Pedro Medeiros got a free kick in the 68th minute. With a little luck, Real Cruzeiro FC's Rubinho de Amaral got control of the ball when Enrique Abeijon tried to sneak it across the goal line. Real Cruzeiro FC's defense didn't have a chance, in the 79th minute, when Zé Pedro Medeiros scored to the left of an out of position Rubinho de Amaral, making the score, 0-8. Escuadrón Mercenario's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
