The ball had pretty good speed, but Intxixu Porregimon firmly grabbed it by the left post. With a little luck, Mexilhão F. C.'s Intxixu Porregimon got control of the ball when Cristinel Leluțiu tried to sneak it across the goal line. Intxixu Porregimon made an important save on a dangerous shot by Jyrki Saarelainen in the 23rd minute. The audience was convinced that Marcel Turcescu's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Intxixu Porregimon was relentless in the 29th minute of the game. C.'s goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Intxixu Porregimon showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cristinel Leluțiu, who was totally free with the ball in the 45th minute. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-5 lead.

Rovine Craiova's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Ronaldinho Romero 51 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 0-6. 58 minutes into the match, Germano Pernambucano dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Lucrețiu Dragoș, 0-7. Lucrețiu Dragoș showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Abel de Lara, who was totally free with the ball in the 62nd minute. 74 minutes into the match, Mexilhão F. C.'s goal looked a bit too open when Jyrki Saarelainen came free, but Intxixu Porregimon reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Intxixu Porregimon showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jyrki Saarelainen in the 75th minute of the match. 76 minutes into the match, Mexilhão F. C.'s goal looked a bit too open when Jyrki Saarelainen came free, but Intxixu Porregimon reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Anaia Barba might have been able to make a better finish in the 77th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Lucrețiu Dragoș. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Anaia Barba ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 78th minute Jyrki Saarelainen shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Intxixu Porregimon saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 81st minute, Anaia Barba ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Lucrețiu Dragoș was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-8. Jyrki Saarelainen received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 84th minute. Intxixu Porregimon tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Gustaw Rasialdo hit a great freekick 91 minutes into the match. If Ronaldinho Romero had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 93rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When the match was over Mexilhão F. C. could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Rovine Craiova throughout the match.
