Mexilhão F. C.'s manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Rovine Craiova the free kick. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 21st minute of the game. One of Mexilhão F. C.:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Rovine Craiova:s goal. The referee gave Rovine Craiova a penalty, 22 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Jyrki Saarelainen, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Mexilhão F. C.'s Intxixu Porregimon. 1-1. Marcu Vârjean's late challenge caught a Mexilhão F. C.'s player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Marcu Vârjean helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Rovine Craiova's Marcu Vârjean got a free kick in the 25th minute. In the 26th minute, Gustaw Rasialdo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Marcel Turcescu hit a great freekick 80 minutes into the match. After some careless play in the Rovine Craiova defense, Ronaldinho Romero kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Paul Pânzaru. The Rovine Craiova fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Paul Pânzaru should have stopped the shot. Marcel Turcescu kicked well hit freekick during the 91st minute of the match. Rovine Craiova's Paul Pânzaru played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ronaldinho Romero in the 93rd minute of play.
