After 43rd play minutes Severo Laurentzi shot 2-0, a short shot which went by Afiz Teo and just under the crossbar into goal. When J.C. Smith came up free with the goalie in the 46th minute, the Polonia Basildon fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that J.C. Smith couldn't finish the play. Severo Laurentzi's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Afiz Teo read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 48th minute of play. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

An unexpectedly hard shot by Ryan Tan in the 52nd minute of play forced Polonia Basildon's goalkeeper Hayden Baker to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Afiz Teo stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Severo Laurentzi's shot from short distance in the 68th minute. In the 73rd minute of the match Polonia Basildon got a corner. Redbourn AFC's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Rupert Longden ran over to the corner to take the kick. In the 76th minute Severo Laurentzi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Afiz Teo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 83rd minute of the match, Ryan Tan tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Hayden Baker saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Redbourn AFC's Afiz Teo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Severo Laurentzi in the 89th minute of play. Severo Laurentzi fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 94th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Afiz Teo having to interfere. Danial Koh lost his temper 96 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. The referee gave Polonia Basildon a penalty, 98 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Rupert Longden, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Redbourn AFC's Afiz Teo. 3-0. Polonia Basildon were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Redbourn AFC for a fine match.
