FC Lugano's La Para played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sebastian Toacsen in the 15th minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Sebastian Toacsen in the 18th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck La Para prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 21st minute Fred Lara shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Flavius Ferenț saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Luca Dragoș kicked well hit freekick during the 22nd minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Rasnita's zone, Jakub Waselenczuk stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Flavius Ferenț came out of the goal and Jakub Waselenczuk tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. A collision led to FC Lugano getting a freekick after 26 minutes play. Alexander Testa hit a great ball. Gică Iftimescu was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 28 minutes into the match. In the 27th minute, one of Rasnita:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Rasnita. In the 29th minute there was a penalty for FC Lugano. Fred Lara stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Flavius Ferenț. 1-1. After a rather tough play, Rasnita's Codrin Cozmâncă got a free kick in the 31st minute. La Para took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sebastian Toacsen, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 36th minute Sebastian Toacsen shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but La Para saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Flavius Ferenț made a fantastic save in the 38th minute, when Jack Saunders sent off a good shot on target. In the 42nd minute FC Lugano were awarded a corner. Zhao Le Sen went to the cornerflag to take it. 44 minutes into the match, Rasnita's goalkeeper Flavius Ferenț had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Jack Saunders. In the 46th match minute, Rasnita was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Radu Macri to maneuver through the defense.

The wind increased when Fred Lara made the kick off in the second half. 51 minutes into the game, FC Lugano's Fred Lara nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Flavius Ferenț made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-1. 54 minutes into the match, Alex Cunea dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of La Para, 2-2. Flavius Ferenț didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Klas Tingelholm went, in the 96th minute, to the upper right corner, 3-2 was the resulting score. Many of Rasnita's supporters were seen to leave the ground early as it became clear their team was going to lose. Rasnita may have spent more time on the ball, but FC Lugano were more willing to take their chances and they walked away with the win.
