With an extended leg and a bit of luck Willy Van Linthout prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Javier Van Landschoot lost his temper 56 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. The referee gave Newells Old Boys a penalty, 58 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Hacı Ali Süvari, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Bruly's Willy Van Linthout. 0-4. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Kenny N'Diaye in the 66th managed to get into a good position.
