The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 6th minute of the game Aykut Canser made a throw-in which Temel Ulubaş played forward. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Kenny N'Diaye in the 8th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Lookman Loody prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The audience was convinced that Kenny N'Diaye's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Lookman Loody was relentless in the 9th minute of the game. 11 minutes into the match, Tomitak Wrocław's goalkeeper Lookman Loody had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Lokman Sağlamtürk. After a defensive mix-up in Newells Old Boys's zone, Radowit Palzewicz stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Semail Kılıçer came out of the goal and Radowit Palzewicz tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Semail Kılıçer showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Radowit Palzewicz in the 13th minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Newells Old Boys's Lokman Sağlamtürk got a free kick in the 15th minute. Newells Old Boys's Semail Kılıçer played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Radowit Palzewicz in the 18th minute of play. Eugeniusz Tyskie received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 21st minute. Semail Kılıçer tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 26th minute Eugeniusz Tyskie shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Semail Kılıçer saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After having played for 27 minutes, Alptuğ Behram managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Newells Old Boys's supporters crossed their fingers, but Alptuğ Behram was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Aykut Canser kicked well hit freekick during the 28th minute of the match. Lookman Loody made an important save on a dangerous shot by Lokman Sağlamtürk in the 33rd minute. 40 minutes had been played when some careless play by Tomitak Wrocław's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Temel Ulubaş was slow to take the kick. During this time Newells Old Boys's players had a chance to rest. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Eugeniusz Tyskie was the one to do the kick off. After 51 played minutes Tomitak Wrocław got a freekick which was hit by Przemyslaw Rojewski. In the 54th minute, Alptuğ Behram got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Tomitak Wrocław's Lookman Loody played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Kenny N'Diaye in the 57th minute of play. If Radowit Palzewicz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 60th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Tomitak Wrocław made a substitution. Bartlomiej Pliszka replaced Przemyslaw Rojewski. Tomitak Wrocław's Mikolaj Filanowski was substituted for Remigiusz Kaczanka. If Kenny N'Diaye had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 65th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 75 minutes into the match, Newells Old Boys's goal looked a bit too open when Mariusz Motyl came free, but Semail Kılıçer reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Mariusz Motyl in the 76th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Semail Kılıçer saved Newells Old Boys from getting behind. Lookman Loody made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kenny N'Diaye in the 80th minute of play. In the 80th minute Kenny N'Diaye shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lookman Loody saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Tomitak Wrocław's Mariusz Motyl in the 83rd minute got a chance for a shot 83rd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Newells Old Boys's goalie prevented a goal. Klement Glembin hit a great freekick 87 minutes into the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Mariusz Motyl in the 89th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Semail Kılıçer saved Newells Old Boys from getting behind. The audience thought a goal was coming when Radowit Palzewicz got free with Semail Kılıçer in the 93rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 93rd minute Mikolaj Filanowski shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Semail Kılıçer saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 94th minute, Başaran Tuncay hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The supporters of Tomitak Wrocław booed when Newells Old Boys was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 95 match minutes in a wonderful position. Aykut Canser didn't get a good kick on the ball. Tomitak Wrocław's Ignacy Mios couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 96th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Newells Old Boys. Tomitak Wrocław's supporters were dissatisfied at the end of the match because Newells Old Boys had won, even though Tomitak Wrocław had held more of the ball.
