The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Nils Eklund showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Kenny N'Diaye in the 4th minute of the match. Newells Old Boys's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Temel Ulubaş in the 5th minute. The corner led Newells Old Boys's Temel Ulubaş to fire away a dangerous shot which Nils Eklund despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. After a rather tough play, Newells Old Boys's Başaran Tuncay got a free kick in the 6th minute. Claes Olenberg took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 7th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Semail Kılıçer. Newells Old Boys's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Semail Kılıçer made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Algot Kruse in the 10th minute of play. In the 14th minute of the match Dallen Fc got a corner. Newells Old Boys's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Mattias Swahn ran over to the corner to take the kick. A collision led to Newells Old Boys getting a freekick after 26 minutes play. Başaran Tuncay hit a great ball. Kenny N'Diaye succeeded in the game's 30th minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 1-0. Nils Eklund showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Temel Ulubaş, who was totally free with the ball in the 32nd minute. Nils Eklund had great luck who in the 32ndth minute grab hold of the ball when Temel Ulubaş from a short distance tried to put the ball inside the right post. The supporters of Newells Old Boys booed when Dallen Fc was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 36 match minutes in a wonderful position. Mattias Swahn didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some careless play in the Dallen Fc defense, Kenny N'Diaye kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Nils Eklund. The Dallen Fc fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Nils Eklund should have stopped the shot. Nils Eklund made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kenny N'Diaye in the 65th minute of play. Semail Kılıçer took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Mattias Swahn, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 80 minutes Dallen Fc's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Temel Ulubaş who took care of the corner kick. The corner first didn't look so dangerous but when Aykut Canser got the ball he succeeded in some way to get through the defenders to deliver a very hard score. Result 3-0. 81 minutes into the match. Temel Ulubaş hit a great freekick 85 minutes into the match. The supporters of Newells Old Boys booed when Dallen Fc was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 91 match minutes in a wonderful position. Johan Mellberg didn't get a good kick on the ball. Dallen Fc's Nils Eklund played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Kenny N'Diaye in the 92nd minute of play. 94 minutes into the match, Algot Kruse had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Semail Kılıçer. Newells Old Boys's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Algot Kruse was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-1.
