When the match had gone on for 34 minutes, Mao Ao Gang took a quick shot and it went in 5-0 without a chance for Miguel Carneiro to make any attempt to save it. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling 洪克川 in the 38th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Miguel Carneiro prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Ermengol Padro took the ball and in the 39 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Miguel Carneiro. Miguel Carneiro dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 6-0. Los Galacticos's Sture Hellbom got a good chance for a goal in the 42nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Ermengol Padro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 45th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Sture Hellbom to make the kick off.
