In the 16th minute Ovidio Favila shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Weather Piedrahita saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 19 minutes into the match, GUSESI's goal looked a bit too open when Florencio Herbella came free, but Thibaut Courtois reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Weather Piedrahita showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ovidio Favila, who was totally free with the ball in the 20th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Leandro Ederono in the 22nd minute of play forced Atletico Maturrango's goalkeeper Weather Piedrahita to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A well-hit corner resulted in Marcial Zuazna heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely. Florencio Herbella received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 38th minute. Thibaut Courtois tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 42nd minute Florencio Herbella shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Thibaut Courtois saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 43 minutes GUSESI's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Hitzeder Serans who took care of the corner kick. A very nice done corner allowed Marcial Zuazna to score against Thibaut Courtois in GUSESI's goal. 1-1 after 43 minutes. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.
The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Florencio Herbella to strike the kick off in the second half. Weather Piedrahita showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tobias Nascimento, who was totally free with the ball in the 52nd minute. Weather Piedrahita made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Leandro Ederono in the 54th minute of play. Weather Piedrahita showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tobias Nascimento in the 56th minute of the match. The audience was convinced that Florencio Herbella's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Thibaut Courtois was relentless in the 58th minute of the game. 59 minutes into the match, Florencio Herbella had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Thibaut Courtois. GUSESI's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Florencio Herbella was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-2. Atletico Maturrango made a substitution. In the 71st minute the ball was on its way in behind GUSESI's goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After 72 minutes GUSESI's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Hitzeder Serans who took care of the corner kick. The corner went over the outstretched arms of GUSESI's goalie and right to Ederono Ojero. He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. GUSESI's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. GUSESI's Thibaut Courtois played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ederono Ojero in the 74th minute of play. Weather Piedrahita took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ovidio Favila, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With a little luck, GUSESI's Thibaut Courtois got control of the ball when Ederono Ojero tried to sneak it across the goal line. 79 minutes into the match, GUSESI's goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Hitzeder Serans. Weather Piedrahita was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After some fancy dribbling in the 87th minute, Ederono Ojero managed to get in a good position for a shot. Atletico Maturrango's supporters rose to their feet, but Ederono Ojero was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Thibaut Courtois breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick.
