Abraham Laing started the match with the kick off. KKS Lech Poznań's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Radowit Lato in the 13th minute. The corner ended in Ebi Smolarek almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Amputees FC's Dean Watts did a great save. If Ebi Smolarek had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 16th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some careless play in the KKS Lech Poznań defense, Abraham Laing kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Norbert Grondzki. The KKS Lech Poznań fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Norbert Grondzki should have stopped the shot. KKS Lech Poznań's Norbert Grondzki played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Marcus Roach in the 21st minute of play. Norbert Grondzki took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Abraham Laing, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Marcus Roach had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 24th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 25thth minute of the game Maciej Kiepski who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Amputees FC's Dean Watts was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Giuseppe Leão struck a weak shot in the 27th minute. Dean Watts didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for KKS Lech Poznań. After a rather tough play, Amputees FC's Pete Stebbing got a free kick in the 31st minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Abraham Laing in the 34th minute of play forced KKS Lech Poznań's goalkeeper Norbert Grondzki to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 35th minute Amputees FC were awarded a corner. Ed Royans went to the cornerflag to take it. Ed Royans made a great header on Amputees FC's corner, it was just that KKS Lech Poznań's Norbert Grondzki managed to reach the ball for a save. Dean Watts took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Napoleon Marajda, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Maciej Kiepski fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 39th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dean Watts having to interfere. KKS Lech Poznań's Norbert Grondzki played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Abraham Laing in the 42nd minute of play. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Maciej Kiepski was the one to do the kick off. Carleton Howie fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 50th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Norbert Grondzki having to interfere. The supporters of Amputees FC booed when KKS Lech Poznań was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 52 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jacek Gdowik didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Radowit Lato fell near the penalty area in the 58th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored KKS Lech Poznań's protests and gave Radowit Lato a yellow card for diving instead. Radowit Lato kicked well hit freekick during the 59th minute of the match. In the 61st minute, Abraham Laing hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After having played for 63 minutes, Abraham Laing managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Amputees FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Abraham Laing was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Bishop Warhurst kicked well hit freekick during the 64th minute of the match. Maciej Kiepski sent away a hard shot on goal in the 70th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Amputees FC's Dean Watts played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ignacy Czekaj in the 71st minute of play. Bishop Warhurst kicked well hit freekick during the 75th minute of the match. Dean Watts took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Maciej Kiepski, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 82 minutes, Maciej Kiepski made it 1-2 with a short kick to the right side. Amputees FC's Dean Watts tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. 84 minutes into the match, KKS Lech Poznań's goal looked a bit too open when Abraham Laing came free, but Norbert Grondzki reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 87th minute Maciej Kiepski shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dean Watts saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Dean Watts showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ignacy Czekaj in the 88th minute of the match. The Amputees FC supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Amputees FC would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
