C.A Gryffindor's Chicão de Azevedo proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 18th minute of the match, managed to save C.A Gryffindor from getting a goal against them. After 19 played minutes Deuce Athletic Club got a freekick which was hit by Valentin Theodore. In the 23rd minute Federico Aimar shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Chicão de Azevedo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Leonardo Chico came free with the goalkeeper in the 26th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Chicão de Azevedo could save by the left post. Chicão de Azevedo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Federico Aimar in the 28th minute of the match. After some careless play in the Deuce Athletic Club defense, Jacinto Quirino kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Leopoldo Ospin. The Deuce Athletic Club fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Leopoldo Ospin should have stopped the shot. Chicão de Azevedo made a fantastic save in the 38th minute, when Leonardo Chico sent off a good shot on target. With his leg Chicão de Azevedo managed to avoid a goal in the 38thth minute, when Deuce Athletic Club's Leonardo Chico fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. In the 45thth minute of the game Jacinto Quirino who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Deuce Athletic Club's Leopoldo Ospin was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Jacinto Quirino stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. C.A Gryffindor's Chicão de Azevedo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Federico Aimar in the 51st minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Leonardo Chico in the 52nd minute of play forced C.A Gryffindor's goalkeeper Chicão de Azevedo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Leopoldo Ospin took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jacinto Quirino, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 56 minutes into the match, Deuce Athletic Club's goal looked a bit too open when Jacinto Quirino came free, but Leopoldo Ospin reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Deuce Athletic Club's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Jacinto Quirino was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-2. In the 70th minute, Edgard Mangueira made a precise shot to the right of Leopoldo Ospin. Deuce Athletic Club's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-3. C.A Gryffindor made a substitution. Guilherme Mazer replaced Jacinto Quirino.
