In the 7th minute Andriy Shevchenko shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sturle Åsland saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 8 minutes into the game, Behçet Alp cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Sturle Åsland was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in.
