Janar Lehismets showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Steve Gabrielli, who was totally free with the ball in the 11th minute. In the 13th minute, Afonsinho Negri made a precise shot to the right of Hermínio Penha. Les diables noirs's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. The audience thought a goal was coming when Duda Terra got free with Janar Lehismets in the 33rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Janar Lehismets showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Duda Terra, who was totally free with the ball in the 42nd minute. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Afonsinho Negri stepped up to make the kick off in the second half.
