The audience thought a goal was coming when Bin Costa got free with Kim Hänninen in the 24th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After 27 minutes, 倪天剑 mouthed his way into the referee's book. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell 陶乐骏 to make the kick off. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 曾俊军 made in the 62nd minute of the game a fairly good throw-in which was taken care of by Bin Costa. 陶乐骏 received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 63rd minute. Kim Hänninen tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some careless play in the Fragleses defense, 陶乐骏 kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Kim Hänninen. The Fragleses fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Kim Hänninen should have stopped the shot. Fragleses's Waldemar Wojtowicz was substituted for Olaf Wojtowicz. Fragleses made a substitution. Wiktor Gomolka replaced Grzegorz Rasiak. 姚骋悦 hit a great freekick 74 minutes into the match. When the match had gone on for 89 minutes, Halim Tetiker put it in 1-2 from a short distance just to the right of Dida Simon. Dida Simon made an important save on a dangerous shot by Wiktor Gomolka in the 96th minute.
