An unexpectedly hard shot by Juan Raúl Amuchástegui in the 4th minute of play forced 20 DE SETEMBRO's goalkeeper Benê Goiano to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Iztal Marisancena got free with Juan Giraldo in the 11th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Juan Raúl Amuchástegui recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 12th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 18th minute Juan Raúl Amuchástegui shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Benê Goiano saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Benê Goiano took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Paolo Péron, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Maurinho Tróia hit a great freekick 21 minutes into the match. In the 23rd match minute, 20 DE SETEMBRO was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Silas Rocha to maneuver through the defense. The audience was convinced that Paolo Péron's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Benê Goiano was relentless in the 25th minute of the game. After 27 minutes 20 DE SETEMBRO's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Omar Santo who took care of the corner kick. After taking down the ball on Forever Tango's corner Omar Santo fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Benê Goiano quite easily take care of the ball. Juan Giraldo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Maurinho Tróia in the 28th minute of the match. Juan Giraldo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Erling Franks, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 34 minutes into the match, Forever Tango's goal looked a bit too open when Erling Franks came free, but Juan Giraldo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Juan Giraldo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Erling Franks in the 34th minute of play. 39 minutes into the game, Filomeno Tonio was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Forever Tango's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave 20 DE SETEMBRO the free kick. Armando Gaizko received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 42nd minute. Benê Goiano tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A collision led to Forever Tango getting a freekick after 45 minutes play. Omar Santo hit a great ball. After 46 played minutes, 20 DE SETEMBRO's Maurinho Tróia shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Juan Giraldo came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in 20 DE SETEMBRO reached it. 20 DE SETEMBRO were awarded a corner in the 47th minute after Forever Tango's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Maurinho Tróia took the corner. The corner ended in Maurinho Tróia almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Forever Tango's Juan Giraldo did a great save. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.
The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Erling Franks to strike the kick off in the second half. 53 minutes into the game, 20 DE SETEMBRO's Erling Franks nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Juan Giraldo made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. Forever Tango's Juan Giraldo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Breno Carneiro in the 57th minute of play. In the 60th minute, Forever Tango's Paolo Péron ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Benê Goiano. Benê Goiano yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-1. Erling Franks recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 63rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Maurinho Tróia took the ball and in the 65 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Juan Giraldo. Juan Giraldo dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-1. Forever Tango made a substitution. Danilo Montel replaced Juan Raúl Amuchástegui. After a rather tough play, 20 DE SETEMBRO's Silas Rocha got a free kick in the 74th minute. In the 75th minute of the match, Paolo Péron got a very nice opportunity to score, but Benê Goiano was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. After a rather tough play, Forever Tango's Armando Gaizko got a free kick in the 75th minute. The supporters of 20 DE SETEMBRO booed when Forever Tango was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 77 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sixto Gaxan didn't get a good kick on the ball. 79 minutes into the match, 20 DE SETEMBRO's Maurinho Tróia broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Juan Giraldo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Erling Franks in the 83rd minute of play. If Danilo Montel had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 85th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 91st minute, Sixto Gaxan hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Juan Giraldo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Erling Franks, who was totally free with the ball in the 92nd minute. Erling Franks fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 96th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Juan Giraldo having to interfere. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The 20 DE SETEMBRO fans cheered their team off the field, for while Forever Tango had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
