The audience was convinced that Paulão Medeiros's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Louie Hicks was relentless in the 9th minute of the game. A collision led to Wakefield Wanderers getting a freekick after 9 minutes play. Nial Sherman hit a great ball. Paulão Medeiros struck a weak shot in the 10th minute. Louie Hicks didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Montesclarense E.C.. The crowd rose to their feet as Paulão Medeiros kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Louie Hicks. That made the score 1-0 in the 15 minute of play. 19 minutes into the match, Paulão Medeiros dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Louie Hicks, 2-0. Louie Hicks made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Paulão Medeiros in the 23rd minute of play. The supporters of Montesclarense E.C. booed when Wakefield Wanderers was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 24 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jeff Duffy didn't get a good kick on the ball. Paulão Medeiros recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 25th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Louie Hicks showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Paulão Medeiros, who was totally free with the ball in the 27th minute. Louie Hicks stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Paulão Medeiros's shot from short distance in the 33rd minute. When Wilson do Nascimento came up free with the goalie in the 34th minute, the Montesclarense E.C. fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Wilson do Nascimento couldn't finish the play. 36 minutes into the match, Wakefield Wanderers's goal looked a bit too open when Wilson do Nascimento came free, but Louie Hicks reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Louie Hicks made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Paulão Medeiros in the 45th minute of play. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Paulão Medeiros was the one to do the kick off. Louie Hicks came out of the goal in the 51st minute to try and stop a shot by Montesclarense E.C.'s André Luís Schmidt. But to his dismay, André Luís Schmidt quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 4-0. When Montesclarense E.C.'s Paulão Medeiros in the 54th minute got a chance for a shot 54th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Wakefield Wanderers's goalie prevented a goal. In the 55th minute, Paulão Medeiros left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Montesclarense E.C. fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 5-0. Wilson do Nascimento struck a weak shot in the 60th minute. But to his dismay, Paulão Medeiros quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 7-0. 79 minutes into the game, Montesclarense E.C.'s Paulão Medeiros nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Louie Hicks made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 8-0. Paulão Medeiros's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Louie Hicks read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 82nd minute of play. Louie Hicks showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Wilson do Nascimento in the 85th minute of the match. In the 87th minute Paulão Medeiros shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Louie Hicks saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Paulão Medeiros in the 91st minute of play forced Wakefield Wanderers's goalkeeper Louie Hicks to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Nial Sherman hit a great freekick 94 minutes into the match. 95 minutes into the match, André Luís Schmidt notched a goal, 9-0, to the right of Wakefield Wanderers's Louie Hicks. Louie Hicks was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Montesclarense E.C.'s supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
