But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Emanuel Mascovescu couldn't finish the play. The supporters of Phoenix Strikers booed when Deportivo Pomelo Nenene was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 46 match minutes in a wonderful position. Basilio Artaldo didn't get a good kick on the ball. Disappointed in the 0-5 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Emanuel Mascovescu was the one to do the kick off. Deportivo Pomelo Nenene's Basilio Corderun played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Emanuel Mascovescu in the 52nd minute of play. After 54 played minutes Deportivo Pomelo Nenene got a freekick which was hit by Eloy Suarez. Basilio Corderun made an important save on a dangerous shot by Emanuel Mascovescu in the 66th minute. In the 74th minute Cristinel Eftimiu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Basilio Corderun saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 74 minutes into the match, Cristinel Eftimiu had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Basilio Corderun. Deportivo Pomelo Nenene's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Cristinel Eftimiu was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-9. Basilio Corderun was out of position in the 77 minute of play, and Emanuel Mascovescu capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Emanuel Mascovescu really showed his touch with that goal: 0-10. 80 minutes into the game, Eloy Suarez was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Deportivo Pomelo Nenene's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Phoenix Strikers the free kick. Deportivo Pomelo Nenene's Basilio Corderun played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Horaţiu Dinulescu in the 81st minute of play. Basilio Corderun took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Horaţiu Dinulescu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The crowd rose to their feet as Phoenix Strikers's Horaţiu Dinulescu slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Basilio Corderun. That made the score 0-11 after 89 minutes of play. Phoenix Strikers's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
