Duda Viana made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Teodosio Ascencio in the 37th minute of play. Yuriy Babushkin stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Rahim Sidam's shot from short distance in the 39th minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Rahim Sidam in the 39th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Yuriy Babushkin saved Deportivo Messina from getting behind. In the 41st match minute, Deportivo Messina was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rene Pierres to maneuver through the defense. A collision led to Deportivo Messina getting a freekick after 45 minutes play. Domingo Jakue hit a great ball. The audience was convinced that Rahim Sidam's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Yuriy Babushkin was relentless in the 47th minute of the game. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

Deportivo Messina's Jonathan Guillerme was substituted for Paulino Vellito. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Rahim Sidam stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 80thth minute of the game Rahim Sidam who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Deportivo Messina's Yuriy Babushkin was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Domingo Jakue got free with Duda Viana in the 90th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Yuriy Babushkin showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Yaşar Akbuğ, who was totally free with the ball in the 92nd minute. 92 minutes into the match, Deportivo Messina's goal looked a bit too open when Yaşar Akbuğ came free, but Yuriy Babushkin reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Yuriy Babushkin stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Yaşar Akbuğ's shot from short distance in the 94th minute.
