But to his dismay, Rene Pierres quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-0. Yuriy Babushkin took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Robin Isaksson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 39 minutes into the match, Deportivo Messina's goal looked a bit too open when Robin Isaksson came free, but Yuriy Babushkin reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Rene Pierres had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 3-0 at half-time.

After some careless play in the Deportivo Messina defense, Robin Isaksson kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Yuriy Babushkin. The Deportivo Messina fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Yuriy Babushkin should have stopped the shot. Alvaro Perfecto hit a great freekick 75 minutes into the match. Deportivo Messina's Yuriy Babushkin played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Valter Hedling in the 75th minute of play. 76 minutes into the game, FF Små Gröna Män's Valter Hedling nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Deportivo Messina's Yuriy Babushkin proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 92nd minute of the match, managed to save Deportivo Messina from getting a goal against them. When the match had gone on for 94 minutes, Robin Isaksson took a quick shot and it went in 3-4 without a chance for Yuriy Babushkin to make any attempt to save it. The Deportivo Messina supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching FF Små Gröna Män's performance. The match ended with a win for FF Små Gröna Män.
