The audience was convinced that Freddy Cordarrell's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Rudolf Åberg was relentless in the 94th minute of the game. There was no doubt that Fenerbahçe were the better team. Fenerbahçe's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
