Hans Curtis breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Ray Ruth's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Hans Curtis read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 45th minute of play. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

After some careless play in the VN FC Spartak-Varna defense, Ray Ruth kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Hans Curtis. The VN FC Spartak-Varna fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Hans Curtis should have stopped the shot. 55 minutes into the match, Kaptan Tevfik had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Hans Curtis. VN FC Spartak-Varna's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Kaptan Tevfik was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 4-0. Ruzgar Gibi Geçti's Shi Qian Qing was substituted for Eze Ceballos. 66 minutes into the game, VN FC Spartak-Varna's Zbigniew Paraszczuk nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Ruzgar Gibi Geçti's supporters rose to their feet, but Ray Ruth was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Hans Curtis breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. VN FC Spartak-Varna's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
