Mané Barreto was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. A collision led to E. C. Flamengo Paraibano getting a freekick after 10 minutes play. Erberk Tunçkol hit a great ball. Giovanni Massa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 11th minute. Mané Barreto tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 15 minutes into the game, Giovanni Massa cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-0. Mané Barreto was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. E. C. Flamengo Paraibano's Mané Barreto played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jon Loarte in the 18th minute of play. With a little luck, E. C. Flamengo Paraibano's Mané Barreto got control of the ball when Valdo Prado tried to sneak it across the goal line. Giovanni Massa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 21st minute. Mané Barreto tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Oswaldo Talavera in the 24th minute of play forced E. C. Flamengo Paraibano's goalkeeper Mané Barreto to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Mané Barreto took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jon Loarte, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 26th minute Leon Sport Club were awarded a corner. Jon Loarte went to the cornerflag to take it. A well-hit corner resulted in Kléberson Loureiro heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely. Clóvis Reis showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Albin Anundsson, who was totally free with the ball in the 32nd minute. 34 minutes into the match, Jon Loarte had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Mané Barreto. E. C. Flamengo Paraibano's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Jon Loarte was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 4-0. 40 minutes into the game, Leon Sport Club's Valdo Prado nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Mané Barreto made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 5-0. Mané Barreto stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Jon Loarte's shot from short distance in the 43rd minute. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 5-0.

The wind increased when Erberk Tunçkol made the kick off in the second half. Valdo Prado took the ball and in the 51 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Mané Barreto. Mané Barreto dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 6-0. When Jon Loarte came up free with the goalie in the 55th minute, the Leon Sport Club fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jon Loarte couldn't finish the play. After 57 minutes, Andrzej Solarek mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the E. C. Flamengo Paraibano and the Leon Sport Club players grew even worse after the yellow card. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Jon Loarte in the 61st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Mané Barreto prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After some careless play in the E. C. Flamengo Paraibano defense, Jon Loarte kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Mané Barreto. The E. C. Flamengo Paraibano fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Mané Barreto should have stopped the shot. Mané Barreto made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Valdo Prado in the 71st minute of play. Kléberson Loureiro recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 74th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. E. C. Flamengo Paraibano's Thomás Loureiro was substituted for Erberk Tunçkol. E. C. Flamengo Paraibano's Jefferson Ortiz was substituted for Jorginho Lago. 79 minutes into the match, E. C. Flamengo Paraibano's goal looked a bit too open when Jon Loarte came free, but Mané Barreto reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Giovanni Massa succeeded in the game's 82nd minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 9-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jon Loarte in the 87th minute of play forced E. C. Flamengo Paraibano's goalkeeper Mané Barreto to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 87 minutes into the game, Zdzislaw Kajdasz was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. E. C. Flamengo Paraibano's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Leon Sport Club the free kick. 10-0 became the score in the 91st minute when Jon Loarte elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. Oswaldo Talavera struck a weak shot in the 95th minute. Mané Barreto didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Leon Sport Club. When the referee ended the match the Leon Sport Club players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
