The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. When Dep Colonia Avellaneda's Darryl Buckner in the 3rd minute got a chance for a shot 3rd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Goiás Esporte Clube's goalie prevented a goal. When the match clock showed 5 minutes, the score became 0-1 when Darryl Buckner sped through Goiás Esporte Clube's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Mané Quirino. The supporters of Goiás Esporte Clube booed when Dep Colonia Avellaneda was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 9 match minutes in a wonderful position. Pascual Lesardo didn't get a good kick on the ball. Mané Quirino made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Darryl Buckner in the 13th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Dep Colonia Avellaneda's Pascual Lesardo got a free kick in the 15th minute. Goiás Esporte Clube's Mané Quirino played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Darryl Buckner in the 22nd minute of play. Victoriano Bernaldo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Edgard Cabral, who was totally free with the ball in the 31st minute. Goiás Esporte Clube's Mané Quirino played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Darryl Buckner in the 33rd minute of play. In the 34th minute Darryl Buckner shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mané Quirino saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Mané Quirino made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Darryl Buckner in the 36th minute of play. After 43 minutes, Darryl Buckner made it 0-4 with a short kick to the right side. Goiás Esporte Clube's Mané Quirino tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Mané Quirino came out of the goal in the 46th minute to try and stop a shot by Dep Colonia Avellaneda's Darryl Buckner. But to his dismay, Darryl Buckner quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-5. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-5.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Edgard Cabral stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 52ndth minute of the game Darryl Buckner who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Goiás Esporte Clube's Mané Quirino was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After a rather tough play, Goiás Esporte Clube's Amílton do Nascimento got a free kick in the 56th minute. Claudio Cerritos got in the 57th minute the ball and tried a long shot which scored to the left of Mané Quirino and thus it was 0-6. 64 minutes into the match, Goiás Esporte Clube's goal looked a bit too open when Darryl Buckner came free, but Mané Quirino reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 71 minutes into the match, Goiás Esporte Clube's goalkeeper Mané Quirino had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Claudio Cerritos. Goiás Esporte Clube's Mané Quirino played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Darryl Buckner in the 75th minute of play. Darryl Buckner's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Mané Quirino read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 91st minute of play. Darryl Buckner recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 96th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Dep Colonia Avellaneda played a much better game than Goiás Esporte Clube and deserved their victory. The Goiás Esporte Clube players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
