The audience thought a goal was coming when Gianluca Scamacca got free with Marcus Vase in the 14th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 18 minutes into the match, Bennis's Cain Velasquez sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Eriberto Enol narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After 20 minutes, Valdemar Alin mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Bennis and the KS Lechia Gdańsk S.A players grew even worse after the yellow card. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Gianluca Scamacca stepped up to make the kick off in the second half.
