Spectators: 7467 (Terracing: 5601, Seating: 1717, VIP seats: 149) Buffalo Timişoara's Adrian Zbora started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 9th minute, Adrian Zbora left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Buffalo Timişoara fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. Ignacy Cerocki received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 12th minute. Fergus Fairbairn tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 15 played minutes Rangers FC got a freekick which was hit by Patrick Sporran. Fergus Fairbairn came out of the goal in the 16th minute to try and stop a shot by Buffalo Timişoara's Valentin Voicu. But to his dismay, Valentin Voicu quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. When Darius Bontine fell near the penalty area in the 23rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Rangers FC's protests and gave Darius Bontine a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Rangers FC's Darius Bontine got a free kick in the 23rd minute. Fergus Fairbairn made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ignacy Cerocki in the 26th minute of play. With a little luck, Buffalo Timişoara's Hunor Csapó got control of the ball when Raymond Johnston tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 32nd match minute, Rangers FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Bradley Carr to maneuver through the defense. The supporters of Buffalo Timişoara booed when Rangers FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 36 match minutes in a wonderful position. Darius Bontine didn't get a good kick on the ball. Rangers FC's Fergus Fairbairn played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Adrian Zbora in the 37th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Marin Tufescu in the 38th minute of play forced Rangers FC's goalkeeper Fergus Fairbairn to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 40th minute Adrian Zbora shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fergus Fairbairn saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Tyler McCraw hit a great freekick 40 minutes into the match. In the 41st minute of the match Boris Becker sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Fergus Fairbairn skillfully saved the ball. 45 minutes into the game, Buffalo Timişoara's Marin Tufescu nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Fergus Fairbairn made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-3.

The wind increased when Raymond Johnston made the kick off in the second half. Fergus Fairbairn showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ignacy Cerocki in the 52nd minute of the match. Boris Becker received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 54th minute. Fergus Fairbairn tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Fergus Fairbairn made an important save on a dangerous shot by Valentin Voicu in the 58th minute. Buffalo Timişoara's Cornel Timofte was substituted for Arnulfo Marino. Buffalo Timişoara made a substitution. Ionică Buculeasa replaced Marin Tufescu. Ionică Buculeasa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 79th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When the match had gone on for 81 minutes, Valentin Voicu put it in 0-6 from a short distance just to the right of Fergus Fairbairn. After 87 minutes of play, Buffalo Timişoara's Adrian Zbora made it 0-7 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Fergus Fairbairn was left in no man's land by his defense there! Fergus Fairbairn came out of the goal in the 91st minute to try and stop a shot by Buffalo Timişoara's Adrian Zbora. But to his dismay, Adrian Zbora quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-8. Adrian Zbora scored 0-9 in the 95th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Fergus Fairbairn, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot.
