An unexpectedly hard shot by Raymond Johnston in the 4th minute of play forced VARGINHA FC's goalkeeper Dito Novaes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to Rangers FC getting a freekick after 5 minutes play. Nick Lamb hit a great ball. In the 6th minute, Alexander McCabe hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 8th minute Alvin Thedin shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fergus Fairbairn saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Stevie McGilvray hit a great freekick 9 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alvin Thedin in the 10th minute of play forced Rangers FC's goalkeeper Fergus Fairbairn to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Fergus Fairbairn showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Álvaro Gaspar in the 11th minute of the match. After 12 minutes of play, VARGINHA FC's Marcus Tande made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Fergus Fairbairn was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 15th minute Alvin Thedin shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fergus Fairbairn saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Fergus Fairbairn took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Josué Paiva, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 23 minutes into the match, Benito Gaufred had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Fergus Fairbairn. Rangers FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Benito Gaufred was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-3. Josué Paiva took the ball and in the 26 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Fergus Fairbairn. Fergus Fairbairn dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-4. After a rather tough play, VARGINHA FC's Davide Lucchetti got a free kick in the 28th minute. In the 29th minute of the match Nick Lamb sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Dito Novaes skillfully saved the ball. In the 32nd minute Alvin Thedin shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fergus Fairbairn saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 39 minutes into the game, Josué Paiva cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-6. Fergus Fairbairn was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. 43 minutes into the match, Rangers FC's goal looked a bit too open when Josué Paiva came free, but Fergus Fairbairn reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A collision led to Rangers FC getting a freekick after 44 minutes play. Darius Bontine hit a great ball. Fergus Fairbairn showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Josué Paiva in the 44th minute of the match. The Rangers FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Fergus Fairbairn should have stopped the shot. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-7.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Raymond Johnston to make the kick off. Fergus Fairbairn showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Álvaro Gaspar, who was totally free with the ball in the 53rd minute. Rangers FC's Fergus Fairbairn played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Josué Paiva in the 58th minute of play. When the match had gone on for 60 minutes, Josué Paiva took a quick shot and it went in 0-8 without a chance for Fergus Fairbairn to make any attempt to save it. Tyler McCraw kicked well hit freekick during the 66th minute of the match. Fergus Fairbairn made an important save on a dangerous shot by Patxi Palenzuela in the 74th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 76th minute, Logan McCubbin managed to get in a good position for a shot. Rangers FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Logan McCubbin was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Dito Novaes breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Fergus Fairbairn was a little too slow when Benito Gaufred got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 77th minute. The score was now 0-9. Fergus Fairbairn showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Benito Gaufred, who was totally free with the ball in the 81st minute. In the 83rd minute, VARGINHA FC's Marcus Tande dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 0-10. Fergus Fairbairn took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Benito Gaufred, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Rangers FC's defense didn't have a chance, in the 90th minute, when Marcus Tande scored to the left of an out of position Fergus Fairbairn, making the score, 0-11. When Raymond Johnston came up free with the goalie in the 95th minute, the Rangers FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Raymond Johnston couldn't finish the play. Fergus Fairbairn was a little too slow when Josué Paiva got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 96th minute. The score was now 0-12. VARGINHA FC's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
