When the match clock showed 45 minutes, the score became 0-1 when Ulisses Sabóia sped through Telge77's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Joakim Hökkvist. After the first half SALIMEN were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Bebeto Trigo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gert Örtendahl, who was totally free with the ball in the 51st minute. Joakim Hökkvist dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-4. SALIMEN's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
