Uruguaiana's André Sena proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 15th minute of the match, managed to save Uruguaiana from getting a goal against them. Uruguaiana's André Sena played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Erik Antunes in the 17th minute of play. The supporters of Icoara Football Club booed when Uruguaiana was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 21 match minutes in a wonderful position. Víktor Rocha didn't get a good kick on the ball. Uruguaiana's Luís Fabiano Mattos got a good chance for a goal in the 33rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 35 played minutes, Uruguaiana's Jorginho Britto shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Durval Guerra came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Dito Ramos couldn't finish the play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Erik Antunes in the 48th minute of play forced Uruguaiana's goalkeeper André Sena to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. André Sena took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Erik Antunes, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.
André Sena made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Erik Antunes in the 58th minute of play. Dito Ramos kicked well hit freekick during the 61st minute of the match. Durval Guerra acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 62nd minute, took the ball on the long shot from Jorginho Britto. Uruguaiana's André Sena played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cipriano Santana in the 68th minute of play. The referee felt a red card was in order, 69 minutes into the game, when Abelardo Gonçalves put in a rough tackle. Cipriano Santana kicked well hit freekick during the 89th minute of the match. Jorginho Britto took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 89th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Durval Guerra. Icoara Football Club's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. When the final whistle went the supporters of Uruguaiana were delighted that their team had defeated the much more dominant Icoara Football Club side.
