Spectators: 7482 (Terracing: 5613, Seating: 1720, VIP seats: 149) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Tod Freeman started the match with the kick off. Dominic Salazar received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 2nd minute. Grant Blacknell tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 6 minutes had been played when some careless play by Leicester Lions's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Barry McCray was slow to take the kick. During this time Modlau's players had a chance to rest. The corner led Modlau's Hieronim Cisek to fire away a dangerous shot which Grant Blacknell despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 11th minute, Wincenty Mochowak managed to get in a good position for a shot. Modlau's supporters rose to their feet, but Wincenty Mochowak was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Grant Blacknell breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Ludomir Ludwiczak hit a great freekick 11 minutes into the match. Leicester Lions's Grant Blacknell played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dominic Salazar in the 14th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Barry McCray in the 20th minute of play forced Leicester Lions's goalkeeper Grant Blacknell to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 21st minute Dominic Salazar shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Grant Blacknell saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dominic Salazar in the 27th minute of play forced Leicester Lions's goalkeeper Grant Blacknell to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Leicester Lions's Grant Blacknell played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Wincenty Mochowak in the 29th minute of play. Jarmo Laik's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Grant Blacknell read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 33rd minute of play. Grant Blacknell showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Barry McCray, who was totally free with the ball in the 34th minute. In the 35th minute of the match Modlau got a corner. Leicester Lions's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Barry McCray ran over to the corner to take the kick. Grant Blacknell made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dominic Salazar in the 42nd minute of play. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

In the 51st minute Barry McCray shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Grant Blacknell saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Modlau's Sebastian Winszman played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Camron Rhodes in the 58th minute of play. In the 60th minute Tod Freeman shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sebastian Winszman saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jarmo Laik struck a weak shot in the 68th minute. Grant Blacknell didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Modlau. Leicester Lions's Damian Dyson was substituted for Jack Sharp. Modlau made a substitution. Damazy Jucha replaced Jarmo Laik. Modlau's Sebastian Winszman played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Camron Rhodes in the 71st minute of play. 78 minutes into the match, Modlau's Barry McCray sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Grant Blacknell narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Grant Blacknell showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Barry McCray in the 84th minute of the match. Sebastian Winszman showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tod Freeman, who was totally free with the ball in the 89th minute. In the 94th minute, Barry McCray left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Modlau fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. When the match was over Modlau could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Leicester Lions throughout the match.
