After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

Kuddusî Mukbil tried to clear up in front of the goal, but didn't succeed and rather the ball rolled into the own goal to the right of a despaired Batıkan Tosun. An unnecessary self made goal, 1-2 in the 68th minute. Valencia C.F.'s Tuncay Candeğer was substituted for Alfred Claydon. Gerrit Stubbe made in the 76th minute of the game a fairly good throw-in which was taken care of by Radowit Prusinowski. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Ricardo Arias during the 77th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card.
