After some careless play in the Crimson Knights defense, Joe Herring kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Tadeo Fidele. The Crimson Knights fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Tadeo Fidele should have stopped the shot. 36 minutes into the match, Joe Herring dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Tadeo Fidele, 2-0. When the match had gone on for 42 minutes, Joe Herring took a quick shot and it went in 3-0 without a chance for Tadeo Fidele to make any attempt to save it. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 3-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Joe Herring stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 54th minute, Joe Herring got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Joe Herring might have been able to make a better finish in the 61st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Tadeo Fidele. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Joe Herring ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 61st minute Joe Herring shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tadeo Fidele saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Valencia C.F.'s Yuan Wei Han quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Bai Xiang Xiao, made in the 63rd minute of the game. Yuan Wei Han blasted a shot towards the goal in the 64th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Tadeo Fidele having to make a save. Tadeo Fidele showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Joe Herring, who was totally free with the ball in the 67th minute.
