In the 15th minute of the match Castanheiro SC got a corner. Squadra Demarchi's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Alfredo Stefano ran over to the corner to take the kick. A collision led to Squadra Demarchi getting a freekick after 16 minutes play. Sérgio Batista hit a great ball. In the 17th minute of the match Alfredo Stefano sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Oscar Saldanha skillfully saved the ball. Oscar Saldanha made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alfredo Stefano in the 18th minute of play. Robben Spoelberchs's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Oscar Saldanha read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 19th minute of play. Alfredo Stefano made a great header on Castanheiro SC's corner, it was just that Squadra Demarchi's Oscar Saldanha managed to reach the ball for a save. Oscar Saldanha showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alfredo Stefano in the 22nd minute of the match. Oscar Saldanha showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Robben Spoelberchs, who was totally free with the ball in the 23rd minute. A nice corner shot did that Jonas Casta got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Oscar Saldanha quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Oscar Saldanha showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alfredo Stefano in the 26th minute of the match. Oscar Saldanha made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Robben Spoelberchs in the 29th minute of play. 32 minutes into the match, Alfredo Stefano notched a goal, 0-3, to the right of Squadra Demarchi's Oscar Saldanha. Oscar Saldanha was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After having played for 42 minutes, Alfredo Stefano managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Castanheiro SC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Alfredo Stefano was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Oscar Saldanha didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Robben Spoelberchs went, in the 44th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-4 was the resulting score.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Robben Spoelberchs stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Alfredo Stefano might have been able to make a better finish in the 51st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Oscar Saldanha. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Alfredo Stefano ran back to his position shaking his head. Oscar Saldanha didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 52nd minute, which inside left pole to 0-5. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Nelson Vidal during the 57th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 57th minute, Nelson Vidal hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Oscar Saldanha took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jânio Sanches, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Thanks to some nice moves Robben Spoelberchs could shoot a difficult shot in the 78th minute, which Oscar Saldanha however easily saved by the left post. If Robben Spoelberchs had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 79th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 83 minutes into the match, Jânio Sanches dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Oscar Saldanha, 0-7. Ernesto Pereira hit a great freekick 86 minutes into the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Jânio Sanches got free with Oscar Saldanha in the 87th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After 88 minutes of play, Castanheiro SC's Jânio Sanches made it 0-8 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Oscar Saldanha was left in no man's land by his defense there! After a rather tough play, Squadra Demarchi's Nelson Vidal got a free kick in the 91st minute. After a defensive mix-up in Squadra Demarchi's zone, Robben Spoelberchs stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Oscar Saldanha came out of the goal and Robben Spoelberchs tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 95th match minute, Squadra Demarchi was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ernesto Pereira to maneuver through the defense. Castanheiro SC's José Pedro Carneiro was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Oscar Saldanha in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. The Squadra Demarchi fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Castanheiro SC were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
