After 34 played minutes, Club Sportivo Italiano's Luisito Bikendi shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Armando Monico came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Club Sportivo Italiano reached it. Guiñazú FC's Clemente Emesto got a good chance for a goal in the 36th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Reynaldo Stephen was a little too slow when Clemente Emesto got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 43rd minute. The score was now 1-2.
In the 51st minute Theo Hayles shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Armando Monico saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The audience was convinced that Vladimiro Millan's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Reynaldo Stephen was relentless in the 74th minute of the game. In the 75th minute of the match Guiñazú FC got a corner. Club Sportivo Italiano's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag.
