Srebrny Grom DK's Gustaw Sobania proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 11th minute of the match, managed to save Srebrny Grom DK from getting a goal against them. Rudy Gummow's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Gustaw Sobania firmly grabbed it by the left post. Lech Kojder charged in rather forcefully in the 18th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Lech Kojder the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Rex Wenham didn't get a good kick on the ball. 30 minutes into the game, Melbourne 007's Burhanettin Utman nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Gustaw Sobania made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. Wasyl Bejrut took the ball and in the 34 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Thomas Diehl. Thomas Diehl dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. Thomas Diehl took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Lech Kojder, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Wasyl Bejrut sent away a hard shot on goal in the 45th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 47th minute Marian Bartocha shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Thomas Diehl saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
When Zbyszek Laskowski fell near the penalty area in the 56th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Srebrny Grom DK's protests and gave Zbyszek Laskowski a yellow card for diving instead. Thomas Diehl made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Marian Bartocha in the 94th minute of play. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Melbourne 007 fans cheered their team off the field, for while Srebrny Grom DK had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
