In the 5th minute, Lirarnas Lag's Jean-Pascal Bellefeuille ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Anzhelo Gerushin. Anzhelo Gerushin yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-0. The audience thought a goal was coming when Christer Wästerberg got free with Anzhelo Gerushin in the 10th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. If Christer Wästerberg had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 12th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience thought a goal was coming when Christer Wästerberg got free with Anzhelo Gerushin in the 14th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Alf Enström showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Belcho Hlebarov, who was totally free with the ball in the 19th minute. 21 minutes into the match, ЦСКА's goalkeeper Anzhelo Gerushin had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Christer Wästerberg. Anzhelo Gerushin made a fantastic save in the 24th minute, when Christer Wästerberg sent off a good shot on target. Bogdan Belberov sent away a hard shot on goal in the 30th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Alf Enström didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Belcho Hlebarov went, in the 32nd minute, to the upper right corner, 1-2 was the resulting score. After 35 played minutes Lirarnas Lag got a freekick which was hit by Sven-Åke Hjelm. Christer Wästerberg recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 40th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 41 played minutes Lirarnas Lag got a freekick which was hit by Elpidio Feliu. Dancho Vamporov took the ball and in the 42 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Alf Enström. Alf Enström dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-3. After 45 played minutes ЦСКА got a freekick which was hit by Veliko Mishonov.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Belcho Hlebarov to make the kick off. If Christer Wästerberg had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 54th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Alf Enström made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lyuboslav Popinski in the 56th minute of play. After a rather tough play, ЦСКА's Stoimen Dipchikov got a free kick in the 58th minute. Christer Wästerberg missed a clear chance of a goal when in the 59 minute of the game fired away a shot, but unfortunally the ball went out to the Anzhelo Gerushin right hand side. Anzhelo Gerushin took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Christer Wästerberg, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Lirarnas Lag's Alf Enström played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Belcho Hlebarov in the 65th minute of play. Christer Wästerberg recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 71st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Christer Wästerberg fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 77th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Anzhelo Gerushin having to interfere. The supporters of Lirarnas Lag booed when ЦСКА was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 78 match minutes in a wonderful position. Stoimen Dipchikov didn't get a good kick on the ball. 87 minutes into the match, Christer Wästerberg notched a goal, 2-3, to the right of ЦСКА's Anzhelo Gerushin. Anzhelo Gerushin was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Christer Wästerberg fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 92nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Anzhelo Gerushin having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Lirarnas Lag's Sven-Åke Hjelm got a free kick in the 95th minute. When Elpidio Feliu fell near the penalty area in the 98th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Lirarnas Lag's protests and gave Elpidio Feliu a yellow card for diving instead. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 98th minute of the game. One of Lirarnas Lag:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of ЦСКА:s goal. Lirarnas Lag:s Alf Enström showed great skill when he stopped Ivelin Ananiev:s penalty. Although Lirarnas Lag had been in control for most of the match, ЦСКА still came away with the win.
