Krasimir Mishovski made a fantastic save in the 10th minute, when René Puente sent off a good shot on target. Anacleto Jory kicked well hit freekick during the 13th minute of the match. When Lokomotiv Plovdiv's Sven Brask, in the 14th minute, received a pass right in front of the net, it looked like a certain goal, but his shot went outside. A wasted opportunity for Lokomotiv Plovdiv. Krasimir Mishovski made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from René Puente in the 16th minute of play. 20 minutes into the match, Eulalio Callejas had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Krasimir Mishovski. Lokomotiv Plovdiv's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Eulalio Callejas was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. After some fancy dribbling in the 30th minute, Sven Brask managed to get in a good position for a shot. Lokomotiv Plovdiv's supporters rose to their feet, but Sven Brask was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. José Luis Chilavert breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 32nd minute Eladio Ulloa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Krasimir Mishovski saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Sven Brask to make the kick off. Krasimir Mishovski made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Eulalio Callejas in the 59th minute of play. Ballet Azul's José Luis Chilavert played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sven Brask in the 61st minute of play. Romeo Passi kicked well hit freekick during the 67th minute of the match. Ballet Azul made a substitution. Odín Enríquez replaced Eulalio Callejas. In the 68th minute, Romeo Passi hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With a little luck, Ballet Azul's José Luis Chilavert got control of the ball when Zdzislaw Obuchowicz tried to sneak it across the goal line. When Facundo Nazario came up free with the goalie in the 71st minute, the Lokomotiv Plovdiv fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Facundo Nazario couldn't finish the play. Krasimir Mishovski took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Odín Enríquez, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With an all-out effort, Lokomotiv Plovdiv's José Luis Chilavert threw himself towards the right post 91 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Antoni Tokludzhanov, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. For all the effort they put into the match, the Lokomotiv Plovdiv players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Ballet Azul.
