Bernabe Bazo could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 6th minute of the match, but Gyula Grosics made a huge save. Gerrit Cronen made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Walmir Breckenfeld in the 10th minute of play. Gerrit Cronen showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Zoltán Varga in the 11th minute of the match. In the 12th minute Konstantinos Kroustallis shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gerrit Cronen saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The audience was convinced that Konstantinos Kroustallis's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Gerrit Cronen was relentless in the 12th minute of the game. Gerrit Cronen showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Zoltán Varga in the 17th minute of the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Lamar MacDonald got free with Gyula Grosics in the 24th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bernabe Bazo in the 26th minute of play forced Gyál United's goalkeeper Gyula Grosics to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Gerrit Cronen showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Konstantinos Kroustallis, who was totally free with the ball in the 27th minute. After some careless play in the Tango en Miami FC defense, Zoltán Varga kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Gerrit Cronen. The Tango en Miami FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Gerrit Cronen should have stopped the shot. 32 minutes into the match, Tango en Miami FC's goal looked a bit too open when Konstantinos Kroustallis came free, but Gerrit Cronen reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The supporters of Tango en Miami FC booed when Gyál United was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 34 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sulev Aare didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 39thth minute of the game Ferry Ribéry who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Tango en Miami FC's Gerrit Cronen was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. When the match clock showed 39 minutes, the score became 0-2 when Ferry Ribéry sped through Tango en Miami FC's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Gerrit Cronen. Tango en Miami FC's Gerrit Cronen played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Walmir Breckenfeld in the 47th minute of play. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Bernabe Bazo stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 52nd minute, Jarvis McLaughlin got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Gerrit Cronen was a little too slow when Zoltán Varga got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 53rd minute. The score was now 1-3. After a rather tough play, Gyál United's Erwin Bienvenu got a free kick in the 59th minute. 60 minutes into the match, Bernabe Bazo notched a goal, 2-3, to the right of Gyál United's Gyula Grosics. Gyula Grosics was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After 62 played minutes Tango en Miami FC got a freekick which was hit by Carlos Street. Gerrit Cronen was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 63rd minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Ignác Mayer. Gyál United's Gyula Grosics played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Izydor Trela in the 65th minute of play. Walmir Breckenfeld could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 67th minute of the match, but Gerrit Cronen made a huge save. Gerrit Cronen took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Zoltán Varga, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Rudolf Sherman lost his temper 74 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. After 74 played minutes Tango en Miami FC got a freekick which was hit by Rudolf Sherman. Tango en Miami FC's Miles Person was substituted for Izydor Trela. Rudolf Sherman hit a great freekick 76 minutes into the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 76th minute, Ignác Mayer managed to get in a good position for a shot. Gyál United's supporters rose to their feet, but Ignác Mayer was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Gerrit Cronen breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Gyula Grosics made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bernabe Bazo in the 82nd minute of play. Walmir Breckenfeld received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 86th minute. Gerrit Cronen tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With an all-out effort, Gyál United's Gerrit Cronen threw himself towards the right post 88 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Zoltán Varga, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. 93 minutes into the match, Konstantinos Kroustallis dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Gerrit Cronen, 2-4. The audience thought a goal was coming when Ferry Ribéry got free with Gerrit Cronen in the 97th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The Tango en Miami FC supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Gyál United's performance. The match ended with a win for Gyál United.
