Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) After a rather tough play, The White Rovers's Archie Garner got a free kick in the 4th minute. After 4 played minutes The White Rovers got a freekick which was hit by Nick Rushforth. In the 6th minute of the game Archie Garner made a throw-in which Mattias Winship played forward. In the 7th minute Leonard Aanuţei shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Francis Gurney saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The White Rovers's Francis Gurney played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Marius Bunoaică in the 9th minute of play. FC Buzău's Marius Bunoaică got a good chance for a goal in the 11th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. With an all-out effort, The White Rovers's Gheorghe Baldovin threw himself towards the right post 13 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Doug Walker, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. After some careless play in the The White Rovers defense, Cătălin Arjoca kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Francis Gurney. The The White Rovers fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Francis Gurney should have stopped the shot. When Leonard Aanuţei came up free with the goalie in the 19th minute, the FC Buzău fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Leonard Aanuţei couldn't finish the play. Mattias Winship charged in rather forcefully in the 22nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Mattias Winship the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After some fancy dribbling in the 47th minute, Augustin Cernat managed to get in a good position for a shot. FC Buzău's supporters rose to their feet, but Augustin Cernat was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Francis Gurney breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick.

In the 52nd minute, Cătălin Arjoca made a precise shot to the right of Francis Gurney. The White Rovers's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-5. After a defensive mix-up in FC Buzău's zone, Mattias Cartwright stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gheorghe Baldovin came out of the goal and Mattias Cartwright tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Leonard Aanuţei struck a weak shot in the 59th minute. Francis Gurney didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for FC Buzău. Through an outstanding action, after 62 minutes, Francis Gurney successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. After 65 played minutes The White Rovers got a freekick which was hit by Joel Dlyan. Gheorghe Baldovin took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Mattias Cartwright, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Francis Gurney made an important save on a dangerous shot by Marius Bunoaică in the 73rd minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Marius Bunoaică got free with Francis Gurney in the 93rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 95th minute, Edinson Cavani ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Francis Gurney was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-7.
