Ogden shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gheorghe Baldovin saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 11 minutes into the match, Boca Juniors's goalkeeper Roman Rollins had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Marius Bunoaică. A collision led to Boca Juniors getting a freekick after 16 minutes play. Rich Jean hit a great ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Marius Bunoaică got free with Roman Rollins in the 17th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Gheorghe Baldovin made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Vitinho Diniz in the 18th minute of play. Gheorghe Baldovin showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from J.C. Ogden, who was totally free with the ball in the 20th minute.
