With an extended leg and a bit of luck Andrei Pavel prevented the ball from getting in the gole. An unexpectedly hard shot by Leonard Aanuţei in the 12th minute of play forced FC Fanaticii's goalkeeper Andrei Pavel to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The corner led FC Buzău's Leonard Aanuţei to fire away a dangerous shot which Andrei Pavel despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. FC Fanaticii's Andrei Pavel played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Marius Bunoaică in the 18th minute of play. Emanuel Giurcă hit a great freekick 19 minutes into the match. In the 20th minute Marius Bunoaică shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Andrei Pavel saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. FC Buzău's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Leonard Aanuţei in the 21st minute. FC Fanaticii's Andrei Pavel played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Leonard Aanuţei in the 25th minute of play. Emanuel Giurcă hit a great freekick 30 minutes into the match. Thanks to FC Fanaticii's goalie finding himself so far out he could grab the ball Leonard Aanuţei tried to make a shot after getting passed the defense. Andrei Pavel seemed to really have strength and confidence after that save. After 32 minutes FC Fanaticii's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Leonard Aanuţei who took care of the corner kick. A nice corner shot did that Leonard Aanuţei got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Andrei Pavel quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. After 34 minutes, Leonard Aanuţei made it 0-1 with a short kick to the right side. FC Fanaticii's Andrei Pavel tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 42nd minute of the game. One of FC Fanaticii:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of FC Buzău:s goal. 46 minutes into the match, FC Buzău's goal looked a bit too open when Marius Ganea came free, but Gheorghe Baldovin reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Marius Bunoaică to make the kick off. Marius Bunoaică blasted a shot towards the goal in the 53rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Andrei Pavel having to make a save. When Emanuel Giurcă fell near the penalty area in the 55th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored FC Fanaticii's protests and gave Emanuel Giurcă a yellow card for diving instead. Emanuel Giurcă hit a great freekick 55 minutes into the match. After 57 played minutes FC Fanaticii got a freekick which was hit by Marius Măgură. After a rather tough play, FC Fanaticii's Marius Măgură got a free kick in the 59th minute. The crowd rose to their feet as Cătălin Arjoca kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Andrei Pavel. That made the score 0-2 in the 60 minute of play. Andrei Pavel stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Leonard Aanuţei's shot from short distance in the 64th minute. The supporters of FC Buzău booed when FC Fanaticii was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 67 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ernest Poplăcean didn't get a good kick on the ball. Edinson Cavani struck a weak shot in the 69th minute. Andrei Pavel didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for FC Buzău. In the 70th minute, Edinson Cavani reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Andrei Pavel. The goal made the score 0-3. Gheorghe Baldovin took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Marius Ganea, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 79th minute of the match, Edinson Cavani tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Andrei Pavel saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. With a little luck, FC Fanaticii's Andrei Pavel got control of the ball when Edinson Cavani tried to sneak it across the goal line. FC Fanaticii's Andrei Pavel proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 88th minute of the match, managed to save FC Fanaticii from getting a goal against them.
