An unexpectedly hard shot by Lorenzo Fernanco in the 14th minute of play forced FC Buzău's goalkeeper Gheorghe Baldovin to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Chuck Hammons hit a great freekick 15 minutes into the match. Cătălin Arjoca blasted a shot towards the goal in the 16th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Otoniel Bonet having to make a save. After a rather tough play, Terapia Intensiva's Melquiades Beila got a free kick in the 19th minute. Terapia Intensiva's Otoniel Bonet proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 32nd minute of the match, managed to save Terapia Intensiva from getting a goal against them. The FC Buzău fans' excitement grew in the 33rd match minute when FC Buzău's Cătălin Arjoca looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 2-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Gheorghe Baldovin took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Melquiades Beila, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Marius Bunoaică took the ball and in the 43 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Otoniel Bonet. Otoniel Bonet dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-0. In the 45th match minute, Terapia Intensiva was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Melquiades Beila to maneuver through the defense. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The wind increased when Cătălin Arjoca made the kick off in the second half. Otoniel Bonet stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Cătălin Arjoca's shot from short distance in the 54th minute. 56 minutes into the match, Terapia Intensiva's goal looked a bit too open when Cătălin Arjoca came free, but Otoniel Bonet reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 58 minutes into the match, FC Buzău's Marius Bunoaică sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Otoniel Bonet narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The supporters of FC Buzău booed when Terapia Intensiva was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 61 match minutes in a wonderful position. Melquiades Beila didn't get a good kick on the ball. 62 minutes into the match, Terapia Intensiva's goal looked a bit too open when Andrei Rogozea came free, but Otoniel Bonet reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Otoniel Bonet made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cătălin Arjoca in the 63rd minute of play. 65 minutes had been played when some careless play by Terapia Intensiva's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Dumitru Cornoiu was slow to take the kick. During this time FC Buzău's players had a chance to rest. The corner ended in Dumitru Cornoiu almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Terapia Intensiva's Otoniel Bonet did a great save. In the 74thth minute of the game Marius Bunoaică who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Terapia Intensiva's Otoniel Bonet was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The audience was convinced that Cătălin Arjoca's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Otoniel Bonet was relentless in the 79th minute of the game. When the match clock showed 82 minutes, the score became 6-0 when Marius Bunoaică sped through Terapia Intensiva's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Otoniel Bonet. 85 minutes into the match, Cătălin Arjoca had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Otoniel Bonet. Terapia Intensiva's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Cătălin Arjoca was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 7-0. In the 88th minute, Vintilă Stoicea ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Otoniel Bonet was frozen by the shot and now it was 8-0. Otoniel Bonet made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cătălin Arjoca in the 92nd minute of play. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The FC Buzău fans cheered their team off the field, for while Terapia Intensiva had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
