Gheorghe Baldovin made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gregorio Urbes in the 17th minute of play. After 18 played minutes FC Buzău got a freekick which was hit by Diego Souza. Ştefan Trif charged in rather forcefully in the 23rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Ştefan Trif the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, FC Buzău's Ştefan Trif got a free kick in the 23rd minute. In the 25th minute, Esquipula Bouzon made a precise shot to the right of Gheorghe Baldovin. FC Buzău's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. In the 46th minute Esquipula Bouzon shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gheorghe Baldovin saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Esquipula Bouzon to strike the kick off in the second half. After 56 played minutes DeportivoIndependienteMDP got a freekick which was hit by Santiago Roano. In the 94th minute of the match Salvador Perfecto sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Gheorghe Baldovin skillfully saved the ball. Vintilă Stoicea hit a great freekick 95 minutes into the match. DeportivoIndependienteMDP played a much better game than FC Buzău and deserved their victory. The FC Buzău players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
