In the 10th minute, Grütly's Guido Olentzaro ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Olo Uriarte. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tadeo Frichoso in the 13th minute of play forced Caaguazu's goalkeeper Olo Uriarte to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Tadeo Frichoso had several of the Caaguazu's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 16 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 2-0 score and a disappointed Olo Uriarte as he didn't even see the shot coming. A hard shot 20 in the game by Tadeo Frichoso from a close distance when the talented Olo Uriarte managed to make a qualified save. Caaguazu's players were relieved. Epifanio Boniel showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jorge Torcida, who was totally free with the ball in the 21st minute. After having played for 25 minutes, Elpidio Gabrio managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Grütly's supporters crossed their fingers, but Elpidio Gabrio was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 34th minute Gilesindo Tarapiella shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Epifanio Boniel saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 40 minutes into the match, Grütly's Tadeo Frichoso sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Olo Uriarte narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 42 minutes into the match, Caaguazu's goalkeeper Olo Uriarte had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Guido Olentzaro. Epifanio Boniel showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jorge Torcida, who was totally free with the ball in the 46th minute. When Tadeo Frichoso came up free with the goalie in the 47th minute, the Grütly fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Tadeo Frichoso couldn't finish the play.
Olo Uriarte showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Elpidio Gabrio in the 54th minute of the match. 55 minutes had been played when some careless play by Caaguazu's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Guido Olentzaro was slow to take the kick. During this time Grütly's players had a chance to rest. Grütly's Cecilio Mirande was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Olo Uriarte in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. After some careless play in the Caaguazu defense, Elpidio Gabrio kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Olo Uriarte. The Caaguazu fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Olo Uriarte should have stopped the shot. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Tadeo Frichoso in the 63rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Olo Uriarte saved Caaguazu from getting behind. Fidel Gomesano's late challenge caught a Caaguazu's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Fidel Gomesano helped the player get up and apologised. Fidel Gomesano hit a great freekick 65 minutes into the match. Caaguazu's Mauro Bocaran was substituted for Gabriel Labiada. In the 66th match minute, Grütly was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Fidel Gomesano to maneuver through the defense. Grütly made a substitution. Feliberto Batista replaced Tadeo Frichoso. After 72 minutes, Sebastian Sedeni mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Grütly and the Caaguazu players grew even worse after the yellow card. Gary Ayala was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 73rd played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. If Esteve Selmo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 75th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Gilesindo Tarapiella in the 77th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Epifanio Boniel prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Olo Uriarte took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Feliberto Batista, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Grütly's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
