The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Robert Vassenius was out of position in the 3 minute of play, and Reinhard Borkmann capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Reinhard Borkmann really showed his touch with that goal: 1-0. In the 7th minute Jurand Deput shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Eugeniusz Tyski saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Robert Vassenius made an important save on a dangerous shot by Fred Mendonça in the 14th minute. When RB Chubut's Jurand Deput in the 19th minute got a chance for a shot 19th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. The audience thought a goal was coming when Fred Mendonça got free with Robert Vassenius in the 33rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Eugeniusz Tyski showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jurand Deput, who was totally free with the ball in the 35th minute. Robert Vassenius took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Benny White, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. RB Chubut's Isaac Mingo was substituted for Jurand Deput. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-2 lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Fred Mendonça to strike the kick off in the second half. If Fred Mendonça had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 67th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 70 minutes into the match, Fred Mendonça had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Robert Vassenius. RB Chubut's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Fred Mendonça was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-2. In the 76th minute, Ivica Lufen hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Benny White charged in rather forcefully in the 85th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Benny White the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Benny White hit a great freekick 85 minutes into the match. Eugeniusz Tyski made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Isaac Mingo in the 86th minute of play. After some careless play in the Hamburg City Vampires defense, Isaac Mingo kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Eugeniusz Tyski. The Hamburg City Vampires fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Eugeniusz Tyski should have stopped the shot. After 95 minutes of play, Hamburg City Vampires's Benny White made it 3-4 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Robert Vassenius was left in no man's land by his defense there! Fred Mendonça struck a weak shot in the 98th minute. Robert Vassenius didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Hamburg City Vampires. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched RB Chubut eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
