Gong Ying Zheng showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Isaltino Dantas, who was totally free with the ball in the 14th minute. Gong Ying Zheng made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Manfredo Travassos in the 17th minute of play. Gong Ying Zheng took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Manfredo Travassos, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After some fancy dribbling in the 21st minute, Jan Persson managed to get in a good position for a shot. VC zoetwater's supporters rose to their feet, but Jan Persson was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Luís Eduardo Mazza breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. VC zoetwater's Gong Ying Zheng proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 22nd minute of the match, managed to save VC zoetwater from getting a goal against them. In the 24th minute Belo Academy were awarded a corner. José Augusto de Andrade went to the cornerflag to take it. It was a well-played corner which Ferenc Szántó managed to volley towards the net. Unfortunately, he didn't get a great hit on the ball and it went out into the grandstand. Gong Ying Zheng showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Bernardinho Leão in the 27th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Manfredo Travassos in the 30th minute of play forced VC zoetwater's goalkeeper Gong Ying Zheng to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 32 minutes into the match, Belo Academy's goal looked a bit too open when Jan Persson came free, but Luís Eduardo Mazza reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The wind increased when Jan Persson made the kick off in the second half. Ferenc Szántó made in the 50th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by VC zoetwater's Patrik Olsson. Jan Persson blasted a shot towards the goal in the 52nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Luís Eduardo Mazza having to make a save. 52 minutes into the match, Belo Academy's goal looked a bit too open when Jan Persson came free, but Luís Eduardo Mazza reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Luís Eduardo Mazza made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jan Persson in the 56th minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Jan Persson got free with Luís Eduardo Mazza in the 58th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Gong Ying Zheng made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bernardinho Leão in the 60th minute of play. In the 62nd match minute, Belo Academy was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Luizão Dinamite to maneuver through the defense. Belo Academy's Luís Eduardo Mazza played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jan Persson in the 63rd minute of play. VC zoetwater were awarded a corner in the 64th minute after Belo Academy's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Bo Bo took the corner. VC zoetwater's Dariusz Zembrzuski was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Luís Eduardo Mazza in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. When Ferenc Szántó fell near the penalty area in the 69th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Belo Academy's protests and gave Ferenc Szántó a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of VC zoetwater booed when Belo Academy was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 69 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ferenc Szántó didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 74th minute Gusztáv Bács shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Luís Eduardo Mazza saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jan Persson recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 77th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Jan Persson in the 85th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Luís Eduardo Mazza saved Belo Academy from getting behind. 87 minutes into the match, VC zoetwater's goal looked a bit too open when Bernardinho Leão came free, but Gong Ying Zheng reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The supporters of VC zoetwater booed when Belo Academy was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 94 match minutes in a wonderful position. Yuri Dias didn't get a good kick on the ball. 95 minutes into the match, Belo Academy's goal looked a bit too open when Bo Bo came free, but Luís Eduardo Mazza reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. VC zoetwater were unable to convert their possession into goals, allowing Belo Academy to leave the ground with a draw.
