Dedê de Senna scored 0-3 in the 24th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Sverker Lindgren, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dedê de Senna in the 47th minute of play forced Gudhem's goalkeeper Sverker Lindgren to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Disappointed in the 0-4 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Billy Dahlberg made a kick off. Gudhem's Sverker Lindgren proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 52nd minute of the match, managed to save Gudhem from getting a goal against them. 27 de Mayo's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Carlos Eduardo Rossi in the 55th minute. 27 de Mayo's Hílton Cardoso was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Sverker Lindgren in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. The Gudhem fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-4. The crowd rose to their feet as 27 de Mayo's Luiz Fabiano Albuquerque slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Sverker Lindgren. That made the score 1-6 after 86 minutes of play. Hílton Cardoso took the ball and in the 92 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Sverker Lindgren. Sverker Lindgren dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-7. 27 de Mayo played a much better game than Gudhem and deserved their victory. The Gudhem players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
